“I hate you,” I said, sighing loudly and staring at a road covered with nothing but snow for as long as I could see. The bitterness in my voice was matched only by the coldness of the winter air around us.

“You’re important in this deal, or else I would have never asked you to come with me,” Chase said, with his eyes focused on the road ahead.
